The Great Arcade Fire Post

{from December 2005}
It's all been said before, but still, the best band of the year, and the best album. But we're getting slightly worried now. That live version of 'Love will tear us apart' with U2 wasn't great, was it? And is it too much to expect a second album as good as Funeral? But still, the follow-up will be worth the wait. And any band that just starts busking outside an NY subway deserves every bit of praise they get.

"The Arcade Fire - Burning Bridges, Breaking Hearts" got the same link as "The Arcade Fire - Surf City Eastern Bloc" :(
But the rest is GREAT. Thanks!!
Y'know... It took a while to do this, so I just can't be bothered changing it again. But thanks anyway.
Wonderful post .... Linked on my blog DoCopenhagen / Thomas
Greetings from NYC.
Love your site. It's so nice when a blog such as yours has personality.
The Arcade Fire windfall was spectacular, but where in the world can one find the band's cover of "Brazil"?
Happy New Year.
There's a whole gig in streaming video on Fabchannel.com.
Great post! In case you're interested, here's their cover of 'Brazil' uploaded to yousendit.com:

fantastic post; thanks :] you wouldn't happen to know where i could find a video recording of their performance with bowie at the katrina relief benefit, would you? i can't seem to find one anywhere.
I think it's on the Us Kids Know forum, there's a video of them and Bowie playing 5 years and wake up.
such a pity that i´m unable to download anything of this (considering the 56k modem). merde!
Just wanted to say thanks for all the links! Much appreciated.
can you tell me about the white session album alignement? and do you know black session? I hope you can help me. thanks. kamandru
hej hej,
no post this whole year so far?
please let's have more of your thoughts and music if all of it is that inspiring!!!
i loved the final fantasy-interview.
(and the wolf parade press release earlier on ;)
do you have more?
NYC here again...
Aw, heck. I missed the deadline for that link to the "Brazil" song. Triple merde!
But thanks so much for thinking of me!
files aren't found!?!
files not found!?!
the files don't work anymore.. is there a way to re-post them?? i would die of joy.
I'll see what I can do, but I moved this year and have little space on my laptop, so lots of these are now gone. But I'll give it a go...
It would be great if anyone who already has some of these could upload them to savefile.com and send me the links by email or comment here. In the spirit of giving an' all.
OH pleasepleaseplease & thankssss!! that would be great!
do these links actually still work!?!?!?!?!
No, all the savefile links went down when they went to 2.0
but I'm planning on reposting all of these in time for christmas.
But I might not have all of them, so if you have one, be nice and upload it o who am i kidding nobody's gonna bother.
the woodlands acoustic track is from Guelph, Ontario, Canada's Undertones webpage. It was recorded in the studio there i believe. you can find another track and an interview... from a few years ago.
