Peter and The Wolf

Peter and the Wolf's debut album will be released on October 31 in the US, and in the rest of the world on the 6th of November, on The Worker's Institute, who previously released a lovely Sigur Ros EP, and are My Latest Novel's people in the US. Lightness is a collection of songs by Red Hunter, songs mostly recorded on 4-tracks in hotel rooms and such - lo-fi would be the keyword here then. As he puts it:
"Lightness is a whole record about that feeling when you wake up all
sentimental from a dream and you want to call your friends and ask How is
your health, how's your dad, how's travels? It is about those good mornings
when you're just wishin' everybody well."
Since he's responsible for 'The Fall', one of the best songs ever (more or less), I await this one with baited breath. I don't think I've ever used that phrase on this blog before. Also, he takes his name from a popular Soviet fairytale!
Here's a song from the album:
Safe Travels
And here's some older stuff:
The Fall
People of the Night
My Latest Novel - The Reputation of Ross Francis
In other news, Final Fantasy has won the inaugural Polaris Prize, with which he plans to pay off his student loans, and help to fund Blocks. Here's the new video for 'He Poos Clouds'.
And in other other news, we've finally moved all our stuff in, and are trying really hard to make the place habitable. In Germany, when people leave an apartment, they take everything. We have had to buy light fittings as well as lightbulbs, curtains, shower heads, shower curtains, and that's before fridges and washing machines and gas and electricity and internet and telephone and everything. It could be a while before we're really settled. Moving-in/birthday party is in early October, which gives us just enough time, I think. Who's coming?
